Hirono × Le Petit Prince (2024)

Hirono × Le Petit Prince by POP MART (2024): 14 figures from The Little Prince — 12 regulars, the secret Pilot and a super secret Little Prince holding a cloud.

Hirono × Le Petit Prince (official title Hirono × Le Petit Prince Series Figures, also written “Hirono x Le Petit Prince” or “Hirono Little Prince”) is the POP MART series based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince (1943). Hirono, the character created by the artist Lang, plays the book’s cast: the King, the Conceited Man, the Tippler, the Businessman, the Lamplighter, the Geographer, the Little Prince himself, the Rose, the Snake, the Fox, the Switchman and the Merchant — the 12 regular figures. Two secrets complete it: The Pilot (Secret), the aviator who narrates the story, and The Little Prince-Special Edition (Super Secret). POP MART gives 25 October as the release date, and the book’s rights holder announced the worldwide launch on 28 October 2024. Every figure carries the detail that identifies its character without a label: the Lamplighter with his head inside a street lamp, the Geographer with a pile of books on his head, the Businessman with an adding machine and its paper roll, the Fox curled round Hirono’s shoulders like a scarf. The Little Prince holds a glass dome with the rose inside, its base marked B-612, the number of his asteroid; the super secret version reaches up to a white cloud on a string while a rose grows at his feet. The set follows POP MART’s official lineup on popmart.com: 1 The King, 2 The Conceited Man, 3 The Tippler, 4 The Businessman, 5 The Lamplighter, 6 The Geographer, 7 The Little Prince, 8 The Rose, 9 The Snake, 10 The Fox, 11 The Switchman, 12 The Merchant, then the two secrets. POP MART’s product page gives no odds for the secrets, saying only that they vary from set to set. The book’s rights holder (lepetitprince.com) and sellers list The Pilot at 1 in 72 and the Special Edition at 1 in 144. On ColleX the secrets do not count towards the full series, which is the 12 regulars. The figures stand 8–12 cm (3.15–4.72 in) tall, are made of PVC, ABS, metal and magnets, and are marked not suitable for under-15s. Another Hirono series in the catalogue: Hirono × Harry Potter.
