LEGO Minifigures Series 12 (2014)
About the set LEGO Minifigures Series 12
LEGO Minifigures Series 12 (71007, 2014): the 16 figures in yellow bags, which ones a box holds fewest of, and what the leaflet code unlocked.
LEGO Minifigures Series 12 — set 71007, also sold as Collectable Minifigures Series 12 and known to collectors as CMF 12 — had its official launch on 1 October 2014 (Brickset). The Brick Fan announced it on 27 August 2014, the Eurobricks review appeared as early as 22 August 2014, and on 3 November 2014 BZPower described it as “hitting shelves”. It brought the numbered line back after two licensed waves that year, The LEGO Movie and The Simpsons, and its bright yellow bags echo the very first series of 2010 (The Brick Fan, Eurobricks). The best-known faces are the Video Game Guy, holding a controller in a T-shirt that reads “Player 1”, and the Fairytale Princess with a frog to kiss (The Brick Fan, BZPower). The Spooky Girl had to wait two years for a partner, the Spooky Boy of Series 16 (Jay's Brick Blog, Brick Fanatics). Reviewers who sorted full 60-bag boxes counted five each of the Video Game Guy, Space Miner and Swashbuckler, but only three each of seven others: the Hun Warrior, Fairytale Princess, Lifeguard, Spooky Girl, Prospector, Jester and Genie Girl (BZPower, The Brick Fan). Searching for “Series 12 codes”? The code on the back of every leaflet belongs to LEGO Minifigures Online, Funcom's online game, where it unlocked the same character (The Brick Fan, BZPower, Eurobricks). The game's servers closed on 30 September 2016 (Wikipedia, Delisted Games), so those codes no longer do anything. Nothing on the foil itself tells you which figure is inside – scannable codes only reached minifigure packs a decade later, with Series 25 (71045) in 2024 – so Series 12 is sorted by feel.
