LEGO Minifigures Series 6 (2011)

LEGO Minifigures Series 6 (8827), December 2011 to January 2012: 16 figures from Lady Liberty and the Classic Alien to the Minotaur, Leprechaun and Genie.

LEGO Minifigures Series 6, set 8827, straddled the new year: it reached UK shops in December 2011 and the US on 9 January 2012 (Brickipedia, BrickEconomy; English Wikipedia gives December 2011). LEGO pitched it as a wave inspired by sci-fi, world history, mythology and everyday life (LEGO.com description, quoted by Brickipedia). Myth and legend take up a good share of the sixteen: the Minotaur with an axe, the Leprechaun with a pot and gold coins, the Genie with a magic lamp (Brickipedia, BrickLink catalogue photos). Lady Liberty is the Statue of Liberty with her torch, and the Classic Alien is a grey visitor with big black eyes and a ray gun (Wikipedia, Brickipedia, BrickLink photos). The Clockwork Robot has a wind-up key in his back, the Sleepyhead hugs a teddy bear, the Butcher holds a steak and a cleaver and the Surgeon a syringe and an X-ray. The Roman Soldier, with spear and shield, extends the line’s run of ancient warriors after the Spartan Warrior (Series 2) and the Gladiator (Series 5).
