LEGO Minifigures Series 4 (8804), April 2011: 16 figures led by the Werewolf, The Monster, Musketeer, Viking and Lawn Gnome, with bump codes on the bags.

LEGO Minifigures Series 4, set 8804, went on sale on 1 April 2011 — the date English Wikipedia and Brickipedia give for most countries, although The Brothers Brick’s preview of 8 March 2011 named 15 April. The standout group is the night-time scares. The Monster is a green creature in the mould of Frankenstein’s monster, the Werewolf clutches a bone and the Crazy Scientist holds a flask of green liquid (Wikipedia, Brickipedia, BrickLink catalogue photos). History is covered by the Musketeer, with a rapier and a white-plumed hat, and the Viking, in a horned helmet with an axe and a round shield. The Lawn Gnome, fishing rod in hand, stands on short legs; Brickipedia names Series 4 as the first wave to include a short-legged figure. The Surfer Girl is the counterpart to the Series 2 Surfer. Vikings did not stop at this wave either: a Viking Woman followed in Series 7, and a new Viking in Series 20 (2020).
