LEGO Minifigures Series 17 (2017)

LEGO Minifigures Series 17 (71018, May 2017): all 16 figures, the mystery 16th that turned out to be the Highwayman, and the Corn Cob Guy.

LEGO Minifigures Series 17, set 71018, came in sky-blue bags close to the colour of Series 5 (The Brothers Brick, Eurobricks), and it officially went on sale on 1 May 2017 (The Brothers Brick, Wikipedia). LEGO had shown the box art at the New York Toy Fair that February, and LEGOLAND Billund was selling bags before the official date (The Brothers Brick, Jay's Brick Blog). LEGO revealed fifteen of the 16 characters in advance and kept the last one as a silhouette in its marketing: the mystery figure, which turned out to be the Highwayman (The Brothers Brick, Jay's Brick Blog, Eurobricks). Being a secret did not make him scarce: a 60-bag case holds five Highwaymen, the same as the Circus Strongman and the Corn Cob Guy, a man dressed as an ear of corn (The Brothers Brick, Jay's Brick Blog). Underneath his rocket costume, the Rocket Boy wears a Classic Space torso (The Brothers Brick, Eurobricks). The Veterinarian introduced the first minifigure-scale rabbit (The Brothers Brick, Eurobricks), and the Connoisseur came with a baguette and a French bulldog (The Brothers Brick, Jay's Brick Blog). The next numbered wave, Series 18 (71021), followed on 1 April 2018 as a party series of 17 figures for the minifigure's 40th birthday. Series 17 itself is listed as retired on LEGO.com (checked 3 November 2026).
