LEGO Minifigures DFB – Die Mannschaft (2016)

LEGO Minifigures DFB – Die Mannschaft (71014, 2016): the 15 Germany national team players and coach Joachim Löw — all 16 minifigures.

LEGO Minifigures DFB – Die Mannschaft, set 71014, is the collectible series built around Germany's national football team. LEGO revealed the line-up on 12 April 2016 at what it called the world's smallest press conference, and the bags went on sale in shops and LEGO's online store in Germany, Austria and Switzerland on 14 May 2016 (LEGO press release, The Brick Fan, The Brick Show). Fifteen players and head coach Joachim Löw make 16 figures; each player wears a DFB shirt with his own name and number, and every bag also holds a ball, a display plate and a collector's leaflet (LEGO press release). LEGO said from the start that only a limited number would be made. The series sold out in less than a month, and LEGO customer service told buyers there would be no further production (The Brick Fan, 5 June 2016; The Brick Show). Feeling the bags barely works: every bag has the same ball and stand, and many players share a hairpiece (The Brick Fan, Eurobricks).
