LEGO Minifigures The LEGO Movie (2014)

The LEGO Movie minifigures series 1 (71004): names of all 16, from Hard Hat Emmet to Abraham Lincoln and Panda Guy, and the case split that left six of them at two per box — half as many as most, a third as many as Emmet.

LEGO Minifigures The LEGO Movie is set 71004: 16 figures from the 2014 film, from Hard Hat Emmet to Abraham Lincoln. LEGO Stores had the bags in late December 2013 — FBTB (29 December 2013) and The Brick Fan (30 December 2013) reviewed them from the shelves — while Wikipedia dates the release to January 2014, before the film opened. That is why BrickOwl files the series under 2013 and Wikipedia under 2014. Only four are lead characters: Hard Hat Emmet, Wild West Wyldstyle with a saloon dress and a fan, President Business with a red Octan mug, and Scribble-Face Bad Cop with handcuffs and a phone tile. The rest are the film’s background crowd — Larry the Barista with his coffee, Gail the Construction Worker with a jackhammer, Velma Staplebot with a clipboard, Calamity Drone with a rifle, Wiley Fusebot with a revolver and dynamite, Mrs. Scratchen-Post with her cat, Panda Guy with a stuffed panda, Taco Tuesday Guy in a sombrero, Marsha Queen of the Mermaids with her tail, and ‘Where are my Pants?’ Guy, who comes with two sets of legs. Two are real people: Abraham Lincoln with a Gettysburg Address tile and William Shakespeare in a neck ruff (FBTB, The Brick Fan). A 60-bag case was deliberately uneven, and FBTB and The Brick Fan counted the same split: six each of Hard Hat Emmet, President Business, Scribble-Face Bad Cop and Panda Guy; four each of Wild West Wyldstyle, Abraham Lincoln, Larry the Barista, Taco Tuesday Guy, ‘Where are my Pants?’ Guy and Wiley Fusebot; and only two each of Calamity Drone, Mrs. Scratchen-Post, William Shakespeare, Gail the Construction Worker, Velma Staplebot and Marsha Queen of the Mermaids. There is no code on the bag, so these were found by feel — Bad Cop’s handcuffs, Marsha’s tail, Shakespeare’s ruff, the spare legs. The sequel series is 71023 for The LEGO Movie 2 (2019, 20 figures); The LEGO Batman Movie (71017, 71020) and The LEGO Ninjago Movie (71019) are separate series.
