LEGO Minifigures The LEGO Batman Movie Series 1 (2017)

The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures (71017), January 2017: the full list of 20, five Batmans from Lobster-Lovin’ to Fairy Batman, and the deep-cut comic villains.

Set 71017, The LEGO Batman Movie Collectible Minifigures Series 1, hit shelves on 1 January 2017 (The Brothers Brick, FBTB, Wikipedia), about six weeks before the film opened in the US and UK on 10 February 2017. Its 20 figures came one to a blind bag, each with a black stand and a checklist. LEGO.com’s product page for 71017 read “Retired” on 21 October 2026. One more Batman Movie CMF wave followed, 71020 in 2018; there is no Series 3 in the CMF lists of Wikipedia or BrickNav. Batman himself appears five times, each in a different costume: Lobster-Lovin’ Batman in a dressing gown with a lobster on a platter, Glam Metal Batman with a guitar, Fairy Batman in pink with a wand and wings, Clan of the Cave Batman with a club, and Vacation Batman with flippers and an inflatable duck (The Brothers Brick, FBTB). The Gotham side is Barbara Gordon, Commissioner Gordon with a Joker wanted poster, Dick Grayson with a can of shark repellent, Pink Power Batgirl, The Joker – Arkham Asylum in handcuffs and Nurse Harley Quinn. The remaining nine are deep-cut villains from the comics: Red Hood with two guns, The Eraser, Orca, Zodiac Master, Catman, March Harriet, The Calculator, King Tut with a cobra staff and The Mime. Nothing in 71017 is short-packed: a 60-bag case splits into exactly three sets of 20, three of every figure (The Brothers Brick, FBTB). The Brothers Brick’s feel guide for this wave came out on 15 December 2016, and both reviews note that Orca’s head is a piece first used in Collectible Minifigures Series 15.
