About the set LEGO F1 Collectible Race Cars

LEGO F1 Collectible Race Cars (71049): all 12 blind-box mini F1 cars — ten teams plus the F1 and F1 ACADEMY cars — and how they differ from minifigures.

LEGO F1 Collectible Race Cars, set 71049, is a run of 12 tiny Formula 1 cars sold one per blind box — the product people search for as the LEGO F1 blind box or LEGO F1 blind bag, although it comes in a cardboard box. It launched on 1 May 2025 (Jay’s Brick Blog, Brickset, Brick Fanatics), and LEGO.com listed it as retired when we checked on 20 October 2026. The ColleX catalogue lists all 12 cars. The full list, in LEGO.com’s names: RB20, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, Alpine, Williams, VCARB, Sauber and Haas — one car for each of the ten teams on the 2025 grid, according to Brickset — plus two cars with no team, the F1 Car in Formula 1’s own colours and the F1 ACADEMY Car for the all-women F1 Academy series. Brick Fanatics notes that the liveries follow the 2024 cars, which is why Red Bull’s entry is named RB20. Colour is the quickest way to tell them apart, and two cars catch people out: Aston Martin and Sauber are both green, but the Aston has yellow wheel rims and a yellow visor while the Sauber is a brighter lime green with green rims. The Alpine is the only car with different rims front and back (Brickset, Brick Fanatics). These are not minifigures. Each box holds a 29-piece car (348 pieces for the full set, per Brickset), and the driver is just a white minifigure head inside a helmet in the cockpit. All 12 share the same build on a new chassis and a new front wing; they differ in colour, the printed nose cone and rear-wing tile, the wheel rims and the helmet, which comes in team colours but without team logos (Brickset, Brick Banter). In May 2025 the cars took the slot of a regular minifigure series, sold in the same style of box (Brickset). LEGO’s larger F1 cars are the Speed Champions range — ten sets, one per team, released in March 2025 (Jay’s Brick Blog). For display, the set’s LEGO.com page suggested a brick-built podium from a Pick a Brick selection. The boxes carry a Data Matrix code on the bottom like recent minifigure series, and scanner apps read it (Brick Fanatics). We have not found a code list confirmed by two independent sources — Minifigure Scanner is the only public one as of 20 October 2026 — so this page shows no F1 codes yet. Rumours, not confirmed. On 4 July 2026 Brick Fanatics relayed a report from the leaker itsjustjoe (via Unibricks) that a second series, 71055 F1 Series 2, could arrive in April–May 2027. LEGO has not confirmed it, and nothing is known about its line-up or price.
