LEGO Minifigures The Simpsons Series 2 (2015)

LEGO Simpsons minifigures Series 2 (71009, 2015): the full list of 16 — Bartman, Fallout Boy Milhouse, Comic Book Guy, Hans Moleman and more — who returned from Series 1 and what a 60-bag box held.

LEGO Minifigures The Simpsons Series 2 (set 71009) was the second and last Simpsons wave, with 16 figures from Bartman to Hans Moleman. It came out in spring 2015 — Wikipedia gives April, and The Brick Fan reported on 3 May 2015 that the bags were already in LEGO Stores and other retailers. Like Series 1 (71005), it is long retired. Six characters come back from Series 1 in new outfits: Date Night Homer in a suit with a heart-shaped box of chocolates, Date Night Marge in an evening dress with flowers, Lisa with her cat Snowball II, Maggie with the greyhound Santa’s Little Helper, Bart as Bartman with a purple mask, cape and slingshot, and Milhouse as Fallout Boy holding a can of Buzz Cola. The other ten are new to the Simpsons minifigures: Comic Book Guy with a Squishee and an Everyman comic, Martin Prince with his book ‘Coping with a High IQ’, Professor Frink with a flask, Hans Moleman with his revoked driving licence, Selma with an eye chart and Patty with a handbag, Groundskeeper Willie with a plunger, Edna Krabappel with a pink mug, Waylon Smithers with a boxed Malibu Stacy doll and Dr. Hibbert with an X-ray of Homer’s head (The Brick Fan, Eurobricks). Maggie is the same figure as in the 71006 Simpsons House, only with her head turned to face forward (The Brick Fan), and both reviews rated her the weakest of the wave. The bags carry no figure code, so collectors pick them by feel — Willie’s plunger, Bartman’s cape, the dog or the cat are the easy ones. A box held 60 bags: three complete sets of 16 plus 12 more (The Brick Fan, Eurobricks). The Eurobricks reviewer’s box had five each of Homer, Bart and Groundskeeper Willie, four each of Marge, Lisa, Maggie, Milhouse, Smithers and Dr. Hibbert, and three each of Comic Book Guy, Martin, Frink, Hans Moleman, Selma, Patty and Edna.
