LEGO Minifigures The Simpsons Series 1 (2014)

LEGO Simpsons minifigures Series 1 (71005, 2014): the full checklist of 16 from Homer to Mr. Burns, each figure’s accessory, how a 60-bag box was split and whether a Series 3 exists.

LEGO Minifigures The Simpsons Series 1 is set 71005: 16 characters from the TV show with moulded heads, released in May 2014 (Wikipedia; The Brick Fan review of 1 May 2014; /Film) — the month Fox aired Brick Like Me, the all-LEGO episode, on 4 May 2014. It shared that year with the big 71006 The Simpsons House set and has long been retired. None of these figures uses the classic round head: each character got a one-piece moulded head with the hair built in, which made them instantly recognisable — and, for the FBTB reviewer (1 June 2014), a little less LEGO than usual. The accessories come straight from episodes. Homer has a doughnut and the TV remote, Grampa a newspaper headlined ‘Old Man Yells at Cloud’, Ralph the ‘I Choo-Choo-Choose You’ valentine, Milhouse a Biclops comic, Ned Flanders a toolbox and a mug, Apu a Squishee, Chief Wiggum a loudhailer and baton, and Mr. Burns a green rod plus a fishbowl with Blinky, the three-eyed fish. Itchy carries a club; Scratchy has an axe and a clip-on tail. A sealed box held 60 bags — three complete sets of 16 and 12 extras (The Brick Fan, Eurobricks). In the Eurobricks reviewer’s box those extras went mostly to the family: five each of Homer, Bart and Marge, four each of Lisa, Maggie, Ned, Krusty, Itchy and Scratchy, and three each of Grampa, Milhouse, Ralph, Apu, Nelson, Chief Wiggum and Mr. Burns. Brickpicker forum members in 2014 mentioned faint bumps in the bottom seal but noted they differed from country to country, so ColleX publishes no bump codes; feeling for Nelson’s bat, Scratchy’s axe or Wiggum’s loudhailer works better.
