About this item
Caught mid-shot
The Series 1 Ghast is shown as it fires — red eyes, open mouth. The Series 2 Ghast is different, with its eyes closed. There is a Ghast in the Special Edition as well.
Fireballs
According to the Minecraft Wiki, ghasts are large floating ghost-like mobs of the Nether that shoot explosive fireballs, which can be hit back. They are the only source of ghast tears.
